depth linebacker with a winning background and special-teams-style hustle
Barakat’s profile points to a high-effort, team-first linebacker whose value has come more from reliability and developmental upside than splashy box-score production: Akron listed him as a redshirt freshman linebacker, and he earned the program’s Scout Team Defensive Player of the Year honor, a sign coaches trusted his practice intensity and preparation. He also brings a championship mindset from St. Vincent-St. Mary, where he was part of back-to-back state title teams. If you need a rugged, system-fit defender who can compete, learn quickly, and elevate the room, he looks like a sensible depth addition.
