Tyler Brown brings physical, assignment-sound play to JMU’s secondary
Brown looks like a reliable, high-floor safety for James Madison: in 2025 he started all 14 games, finished with 80 tackles, 5 tackles for loss, 1 sack, 1 interception and 6 pass break-ups, and earned Honorable Mention All-Sun Belt plus the Sun Belt Elite Award. His profile suggests a tough, productive defender who shows up against the run and in coverage, with enough ball production to matter and the consistency coaches love. He also appears to be a strong-character, academic-positive fit, with Dean’s List recognition and no obvious durability red flags in the available record.
