Josh Riddell’s Mississippi State run was short, but his arm talent and JUCO production stood out
In the 2007 season, Josh Riddell arrived at Mississippi State after throwing for 5,333 yards and 54 touchdowns over two junior-college seasons, which is the kind of production that screams “vertical passing threat.”[5][8] His differentiators were pocket-passer size, experience, and ball security—he was listed at 6-1, 195 and had just nine interceptions in JUCO play, but his Mississippi State impact was limited to three games before injury ended his SEC arc.[5][8][14] If you want a polished thrower with proven production, that’s the appeal; if you need durability and an extensive late-career college résumé, the fit is much murkier.[14]
