Brian Nunez is a strike-throwing SLU relief arm with starter experience and room to rise
In the 2026 season, Brian Nunez has been a useful right-handed reliever for Saint Louis, appearing in eight games and striking out 6 in 4.2 innings, while his prior 2024-25 San Diego Mesa season showed starter durability with 8 starts, a 3-2 record, 26 strikeouts in 27.0 innings, and an 8.67 K/9. The hook is the experience: he’s already handled both starting and relief roles, brings a compact 6-1, 180 frame, and gives a staff a versatile arm. The concern is command/traffic, but the fit is clear if a team wants a competitive, adaptable pitcher with upside.
