Vincent Gamberdella brings veteran pop and steady backstop value to SJSU
In the 2026 season, San José State senior catcher Vincent Gamberdella has flashed real offensive upside, including a three-hit, three-RBI opener with two doubles and career-highs in hits, RBIs, and walks, plus a timely RBI walk in a later one-run game[2][11][15]. He profiles as a durable, experienced presence behind the plate and a polished run-producer who can also create pressure with extra-base contact, making him a useful fit for a team that wants veteran toughness, clutch at-bats, and leadership from the catcher spot[1][12][13].
