Asante Gist brings shot-making and lead-guard experience to Iona
Asante Gist is a proven scoring guard whose best trait is efficient perimeter creation: at Iona, he averaged 12.2 points and 2.8 assists across 64 games, and he hit 189 career three-pointers with 118 coming in his Iona years. He’s the kind of guard you care about because he can stretch a defense, run offense, and has already shown he can handle a real workload in Division I. The fit question comes down to role: he’s strongest when given freedom to score and space the floor, not when asked to be a pure table-setter.
