veteran Penn State guard known for leadership and academics
McMurtry is best known as a steady, veteran presence rather than a box-score driver: Penn State listed her as a two-time team captain and three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree, which points to leadership, reliability, and strong program fit[4]. Her current stat profile is minimal in the available data, so the real value case is her maturity, culture-setting role, and past recognition for sportsmanship, making her a better fit for teams that need composure and accountability than for those seeking high-usage scoring punch[2][4].
