Brandon Byrd brings versatile depth and special-teams value to Marshall's backfield
Brandon Byrd is a compact, multi-purpose running back for Marshall who offers more than just rushing upside: in his senior high school season, he totaled 470 rushing yards on 85 carries, 191 receiving yards on 11 catches, and 12 touchdowns, plus 114 kickoff return yards, showing the kind of all-around versatility coaches love. He entered college as a 2-star prospect with a 247Sports rating of 70, but his profile suggests a player who can contribute in space, on special teams, and as a dependable depth piece. If you want toughness, flexibility, and hidden-yardage value, he’s worth a look.
