Brandon Stephens is Coppin State’s high-upside arm with draft buzz
In the 2025 season, Coppin State right-hander Brandon Stephens was identified by Perfect Game as the No. 3 MLB Draft prospect entering his sophomore year, thanks to a live arm and strikeout ability that showed up early with 14 Ks in 15.1 innings as a freshman. He’s a 6-foot-3 pitcher who can miss bats and has been praised for his velocity and power stuff, but his 2026 results have been uneven, including a rough outing versus Stonehill and a loss at Navy. The fit? High-ceiling, but more volatile than polished.
