Walk-On Linebacker Who Earned His Way Into the Ohio State Story
Joe Burger is best known for the kind of profile coaches trust: a former Ohio prep star who recorded 103 tackles, five sacks and an interception as a senior, then arrived at Ohio State as a scholar-athlete and walk-on linebacker[2][3]. His differentiators are toughness, football intelligence and proven buy-in—traits that helped him rise from under-the-radar recruit to Buckeyes captain material in past coverage[5][6]. If you want a high-motor, team-first LB with developmental upside and strong locker-room value, Burger is exactly the type to care about.
