Ky McGary brings speed, contact skills and athletic upside to Arizona State’s outfield
McGary is a lean, right-handed outfielder whose game is built on **athleticism, bat-to-ball feel and speed**, with a track record that includes a .392 career average in high school, a .503 OBP, and 47 steals in 59 attempts, plus a club-level .397 average and 1.089 OPS in 2023. At Arizona State, he saw limited varsity action as a freshman in 2025 but contributed as a runner and made the most of his chances, which suggests he fits best as a high-energy, versatile piece rather than an immediate middle-order bat.
