Nick Matson is a two-way sparkplug powering LIU’s 2026 surge
In the 2026 season, Nick Matson has been a high-impact regular for LIU, hitting .353 with an .887 OPS while adding power, speed, and run production in key spots. He’s shown a knack for coming through in big moments, including multi-hit, multi-RBI games and a strong showing during LIU’s postseason run, which culminated in the NEC title. What makes him interesting is the two-way profile and competitive edge: an outfielder/left-handed pitcher who brings versatility, athleticism, and a proven ability to contribute beyond the box score.
