Jacob Merriman brings old-school linebacker punch to Northwestern State
Jacob Merriman is a rugged, downhill linebacker for Northwestern State who’s best known for physical tackling, run-fit discipline, and a no-nonsense motor. In the 2014 season, he appeared in 10 games and made 33 tackles, including 26 solo stops, and his career-high came with 8 tackles at Central Arkansas that year. He profiles as a tone-setter rather than a stat-padding superstar: reliable in traffic, instinctive against the run, and the kind of defender coaches trust when they want toughness and accountability more than flash.
