NDSU’s Intense, Data-Driven LB Leader with Elite Tackling and FCS Preseason All-American Buzz
Greg Reid, the 5'9", 185-pound linebacker for North Dakota State’s 12-0 2025 national title-contending Bison, stands out for his relentless intensity, elite tackling efficiency (averaging 8.2 stops per game in 2024), and data-driven approach that ranks him among FCS stat leaders in solo tackles and pass breakups. Unlike typical LBs, Reid combines a 4.65-second 40-yard dash with a 32-inch vertical, enabling him to cover slot receivers and blitz with equal ferocity. Though he missed two games in 2023 due to a minor ankle sprain, he returned stronger, now leading the team in defensive intensity metrics. Reid’s personality—witty, direct, and fiercely competitive—makes him a perfect fit for teams needing a high-motor, versatile defender who thrives in pressure situations. If you’re building a championship squad, Reid isn’t just a good fit; he’s a differentiator.
