Southern Utah LB to watch for effort and defensive upside
Derek Niggemeier is a Southern Utah linebacker whose appeal is more about role-player reliability and defensive fit than headline stats; based on the limited reliable public information available, he projects as a team-first defender who can add toughness, pursuit energy, and depth at LB. I couldn’t verify enough current, source-backed performance data or recent rankings to credibly call him a breakout name, so the best read is that he’s a practical fit for a staff valuing effort, consistency, and development upside over flash.
