Furman’s disruptive, position-flexible trench warrior
Ira McCune is a tough, versatile Furman defensive lineman who flashed as a junior in 2013 with 47 tackles, 8 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks and a SoCon-best 4 fumble recoveries, then drew preseason All-SoCon second-team notice in 2014. He stands out for quickness, athleticism and the ability to play both inside and on the edge, which makes him more than a stat-sheet guy. If a team wants a high-motor, physical defender who can wreck plays and create turnovers, McCune is a strong fit.
