Jaylen Thompson gives McNeese a reliable, physical RB with efficient burst
Jaylen Thompson looks like a compact, efficient runner for McNeese: in the 2025 season, he produced 178 rushing yards on 35 carries (5.1 per carry) with 1 touchdown, and he also added 59 receiving yards, showing a bit of versatility out of the backfield. He had limited work in 2024, when he logged 26 rushing yards on 7 carries, but his 2025 efficiency suggests a player who can make the most of touches. At 5'11" and about 200 pounds, he profiles as a sturdy, downhill back who can fit a rotation and punish defenses if he gets daylight.
