Midgley Brings Veteran Cal Toughness, Shot-Making, and Leadership
Richard Midgley’s appeal is built on more than box-score padding: Cal’s own bio describes him as a hard-nosed guard with leadership, experience, and the ability to play both backcourt spots, while also noting he was one of the program’s top long-range shooters in the 2000s with 134 career threes and a 37.6% career mark. He also added international edge and competitive grit, overcoming a sprained right shoulder late in one season and still giving Cal a steady, physical presence. If a team wants a reliable, versatile guard who brings toughness, shooting, and poise, Midgley fits the bill nicely.
