High-Intensity Forward with 52% FG and Double-Double Capability
Tarique Thompson, a 6'5" forward for the High Point Panthers, stands out for his elite shooting efficiency (52.0% FG) and intensity, recently delivering a 19-point, 5-rebound game in a road loss to Charleston Southern. His differentiators include a rare blend of physicality and consistency, evidenced by a 10-point, 10-rebound double-double earlier in the 2025-26 season, and a reputation among coaches as a 'glue guy' who never takes a possession off. While his scoring average (5.9 PPG) is modest, his 3.3 rebounds and 1 steal per game reflect a high-intensity defensive presence. Thompson has no known injury history, and his Raeford, NC roots fuel a gritty, team-first personality. He is an ideal fit for teams needing a reliable, efficient forward who elevates play without demanding star status, making him a valuable asset for depth and locker room stability.
