5th-Round DB Turned NFL Linebacker with Elite Speed and Cotton Bowl Heroics
Jaylon Carlies, selected by the Indianapolis Colts in the 5th round (151st overall) of the 2024 NFL Draft, is a 6-3, 219-pound defensive back turned linebacker who led Missouri in tackles (64) during their 2023 Cotton Bowl-winning season, including a 11-tackle, 1-sack performance vs. Ohio State. His differentiators include elite 4.50-second 40-yard dash speed, a 10'5" broad jump, and a relentless, high-intensity playing style that left an indelible mark over 48 games. Though rated a 'Candidate for Bottom of Roster' by NFL evaluators, his versatility, burst, and proven big-game intensity make him a compelling fit for teams needing a fast, adaptable defender with championship DNA.
