Mercer DB Gavin Spratt Brings Safety-First Reliability
Gavin Spratt is a safety for Mercer whose background suggests a steady, fundamentally sound defensive back rather than a flashy stat-chaser: he was an all-county safety at Harrison High School and a four-year varsity contributor, which usually signals discipline, toughness, and coach trust. Mercer’s roster lists him at safety, and that positional fit points to a player who should matter most on communication, alignment, and run/pass support rather than highlight-reel production. If your team values consistency, football IQ, and a DB who can handle assignment football, Spratt looks like a sensible fit.
