In the 2024-25 season, McConnell was a true stat-stuffer for Duquesne, averaging 18.4 points, 7.2 rebounds, 5.0 assists and an Atlantic 10-best 4.1 steals per game while starting all 34 games. She was named to the 2025 Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year watchlist and the 2025 Naismith Defensive Player of the Year watchlist, a fitting nod for a guard known for elite anticipation, relentless motor and toughness. She also gave Duquesne a rare mix of production and edge: high usage, playmaking, steals and rebounding from the backcourt, plus a reputation as one of the nastiest competitors in the league.
