Middle Tennessee’s steady backcourt engine with a veteran feel
James Washington III is a 2025-26 Middle Tennessee guard who brings a compact 6-foot, 170-pound frame, veteran backcourt experience, and a reputation for doing the little things that help winning teams click[1][2][3]. His profile points to a steady, lead-guard style rather than flash: he’s valued for handling, organizing, and providing perimeter production, with ESPN listing him in the Blue Raiders’ guard rotation and sports-reference identifying him as a Middle Tennessee/Western Illinois college guard[1][3]. If you need a composed guard who can fit into a system, defend his spot, and keep the offense on schedule, he’s the kind of player coaches tend to trust[1][2][3].
