Clemson’s steady, data-backed bullpen weapon with a real breaking-ball upgrade
In the 2025 season, Joe Allen was one of Clemson’s most reliable relief arms, going 5-0 with a 1.84 ERA and 32 strikeouts in 29 1/3 innings, and Clemson’s roster lists him as a 6-foot-3, 220-pound graduate RHP with 9-0 career pitching line and 90 strikeouts across 81.2 innings. He stands out for strike-throwing, poise, and a new gyro slider that he said became his most-used pitch in 2025; that pitch-development arc, plus his four-time All-ACC Academic profile, points to a mature, coachable competitor who can help a staff with reliability and some sneaky bite.
