Padgett’s a sturdy strike-throwing righty who’s given UNC valuable innings
In the 2026 season, North Carolina RHP Cameron Padgett has been a useful multi-role arm: he started against NC A&T and delivered 3.0 scoreless innings with three strikeouts, and his UNC bio shows he logged 27.2 innings in 2025 with a 4.88 ERA and 19 strikeouts across 13 appearances.[10][1] The appeal is the frame and profile—6-3, 195, right-on-right, with the toughness to pitch in different spots—and the bigger context is resilience: he’s pitched through a career shaped by gratitude and perspective after a serious arm-related setback story that teammates and writers have highlighted.[8][12]
