WVU's Relentless 'Glue Guy' DL with Sack Flair Now at Wisconsin
Hammond Russell IV, a 6'3", 245-lb redshirt senior transfer from West Virginia to Wisconsin, erupted in 2025 with 13 tackles, standout sacks, and five starts across nine games, including a dominant four-tackle, two-sack outing vs. Robert Morris; his 2024 stats featured 17 tackles, 3 sacks, and 3.5 TFLs in 13 games as a reliable depth piece on 325 snaps. Labeled the 'glue guy' for his high-motor intensity, leadership, and on-off-field impact, Russell's strength (90 EA CFB 26 rating) and pass-rush upside make him a culture-fit disruptor for teams needing blue-collar DL production—no injury red flags.
