SMU's Senior WR with Elite Route-Running and Faith-Driven Intensity
Austin Upshaw, a 6-1, 192-lb senior WR for the SMU Mustangs, delivered 18 receptions for 180 yards and 1 TD in the 2022 season, playing all 13 games with five starts[1][7]. His differentiators include elite route-running precision, a faith-driven intensity that fuels his practice habits, and a resilient personality as a former decommitted recruit who chose SMU over Memphis[5]. Though his stats are modest, his on-field chemistry with QBs and ability to win critical third-down routes make him a high-fit WR for teams needing reliability over flash. No major injury history is noted, and his leadership as a senior adds intangible value[1].
