Aaron McFarland brings size, recruiting buzz, and a fresh-start upside to Chicago State’s receiver room
McFarland entered Chicago State as a three-star wide receiver and one of the more interesting pieces in the Cougars’ first football recruiting class, with recruiting interest from East Carolina, Marshall, and several MAC programs. He’s listed at roughly 6-foot to 6-foot-3 and about 180 pounds, so the fit is a developmental outside receiver who can grow into a reliable target. The draw is projection: length, under-the-radar athletic upside, and a program-building profile rather than a long statistical résumé. If you want instant production, look elsewhere; if you want a young pass-catcher with real upside, he’s worth a hard look.
