Hayden Trier brings size, strikeout pedigree, and bullpen upside to EIU
In the 2025 season at Lincoln Trail College, Hayden Trier logged a 4-4 record with a 4.33 ERA, 71 strikeouts in 68.2 innings, and two complete games, showing the kind of starter’s workload that translates well to the next level[4]. Eastern Illinois listed the 6-foot-4 right-hander as a Louisville, Ky., product and a member of Trinity’s 2021 Kentucky state championship team, which hints at a pitcher with competitive DNA and a winning background[4]. He also earned President’s Academic Honor Roll recognition, a nice bonus for a coach looking for reliability on and off the field[4]. The caution flag: his 2026 bullpen usage at EIU was limited, with three appearances and a 23.14 ERA over 4.2 innings, so the talent is there, but the transition clearly needs time[1].
