a former SMU DB with real playmaking roots
Blake Poston’s SMU football profile points to a compact, aggressive defensive back who showed ball skills and toughness, including an All-State prep résumé with 10 interceptions, three returned for touchdowns, plus 60 tackles and five blocked kicks in his senior year. At SMU in the 2012 season, he played in nine games, made three tackles, forced a fumble against Texas A&M, and handled seven punt returns for 34 yards, showing versatility and special-teams value. He looks like the kind of feisty, high-motor defender coaches trust when they want instincts, effort, and hidden-yardage help.
