Katherine Thiessen is an ascending, high-upside SE Louisiana arm with size and strikeout potential
Thiessen is a 6-foot-2 right-handed pitcher for SE Louisiana who already showed useful freshman-level production, posting a 1.70 ERA with 2 wins in 2026 while ranking among the Lions’ better strikeout-rate arms.[5][9] Her profile suggests upside: a reported 64 mph fastball, a changeup, and a long, projectable frame that can make her ball move differently and create angle for hitters to handle.[1][5] She also brings international experience from Canada’s U18 national team, which adds competitiveness and poise beyond the box score.[7] If you want a young pitcher with development runway and matchup value, she fits.
