Will Allen gives USF a live-arm look with starter potential
In the 2026 season, South Florida’s Will Allen has shown a workable right-handed starter’s toolkit: he posted a 4.01 ERA over 24.2 innings with 17 strikeouts and a .258 opponent average, and he’s flashed punchout ability while keeping hitters relatively quiet early in his college career.[1] The upside is the frame, the strike-throwing glimpses, and enough fastball life/competitive edge to project as a useful rotation piece if the command tightens; the downside is that his results have still been a little uneven, so he looks more like a developmental fit than an instant plug-and-play ace.[1][2][3]
