Ohio State’s Mike Nugent: Proven, clutch-leg kicker with NFL-caliber accuracy
Mike Nugent is a former Ohio State placekicker who became a second-round NFL draft pick, which signals rare leg strength, consistency, and calm under pressure. His differentiators are reliability from distance and the ability to bounce back after misses, a trait reflected in his own blunt, self-critical approach after a rough game. For a team, he fits best as a steady specialist with high-end upside in scoring situations, especially if you value a kicker who can handle big moments rather than just raw power.
