Dane DeWees brings speed, contact, and winning pedigree to Southern Indiana
DeWees enters Southern Indiana as a high-upside outfielder with a knack for getting on base and causing havoc; in his freshman season at Southwestern Illinois College in 2026, he hit .369 with 64 runs, 38 RBIs, 22 stolen bases, and showed the kind of disruptive speed that changes innings. He also carries a strong winner’s edge, having played on Silver Creek’s 2023 state championship team, which hints at a player who understands pressure and competitive detail.
