Michigan Freshman Catcher Rachel Del Busto: Elite Pop Time & Power-Hitting Potential
Rachel Del Busto, a 2025 graduate and freshman catcher for the Michigan Wolverines in the 2026 season, brings elite defensive differentiators with a 1.59-second pop time (consistently 1.60–1.65) and a 97.7 OnDeck Measurement Index, making her a rare two-way threat who can throw out 20+ base runners annually [2]. While her collegiate batting line is still developing (.250 OBP in four 2026 games), her high-school and club pedigree features 11 HRs and a 1.129 OPS in 2023, signaling untapped power-hitting upside as a righty [1][2]. Her intensity and right-handed catching/power-hitting profile make her a high-upside fit for teams needing a defensive anchor with offensive growth potential, though she is currently in her first year of NCAA competition [1][6].
