CJay Boone brings size, pedigree, and a vertical-threat profile to New Mexico
CJay Boone is a 6-foot-3 wideout whose recruiting pedigree stood out early: he was rated among the nation’s better high-school receivers coming out of St. Louis, and that frame gives him clear boundary-target upside. In the 2021 season at New Mexico, he recorded 2 catches for 26 yards, so the on-field production has been limited, but the more interesting trait is his length-and-speed projection rather than volume stats. If a team wants a developmental receiver with catch-radius potential and special-teams/role-player upside, Boone is a reasonable fit; if you need an instant, high-output WR1, he’s not there yet.
