Colgate's Tackling Machine and Patriot League Standout (2013-2017)
Charles Cairnie, a 6'5", 215-lb linebacker for the Colgate Raiders, delivered relentless intensity with 48 games played and 36 starts from 2013-2017, peaking at a career-high 10 tackles (including 2 TFLs) vs. Fordham in 2014 to earn Athlete of the Week honors. Transitioning seamlessly from high school standout (86 tackles, 2 TFLs, 3 PBUs as a senior) to FCS reliability, his size-speed combo (4.80 40-yard dash) and leadership shone in key wins like the 31-29 thriller over No. 11 Fordham. A high-motor, versatile defender perfect for teams needing physical, instinctive LBs with proven tackling prowess.
