veteran Samford QB with a long, still-quiet resume
Cooper Cross is a Samford quarterback with a veteran presence and a 6-4 frame, but the publicly available stat sheet does not show recent passing production; his Samford bio and roster history emphasize his development, experience, and team role rather than gaudy numbers. He was a high school passer who threw for 1,700 yards as a senior at Lassiter, and at Samford he has been listed primarily as a quarterback/holder, which suggests versatility and trust from the staff. If you want a low-drama, system-fit depth piece with experience, he makes sense; if you need an explosive, stat-stacking QB, this is probably not your guy.
