Virginia’s steady-footed special teams weapon
Mike Abrams carved out a reliable role for Virginia as a punter and tight end, with career punting numbers of 33 punts for 1,400+ yards and a 42.4-yard average in his Cavalier career, plus a peak season in 2001 that earned All-ACC consideration and Ray Guy Award attention. His differentiators were hang time, field position control, and the ability to limit returns—less flashy than a skill-position star, but exactly the kind of punter that can quietly tilt a game. If your team values consistency, discipline, and hidden-yardage impact, he fits.
