Chase Swift is Virginia Tech’s strikeout-lefty with late-inning bite
In the 2026 season, Chase Swift emerged as a valuable Virginia Tech arm, posting a 3.63 ERA with 38 strikeouts and just 8 walks in 22 1/3 innings while also earning 2 saves; across two seasons, he totaled a 3.83 ERA and 85 strikeouts in 51 2/3 innings. He’s a tough, energetic left-hander whose best trait is how well he misses bats and limits free passes, and he’s been trusted in starter and relief roles. The knock: his fastball has been described as more high-80s than overpowering, so his fit is best with teams that value pitchability and competitiveness over pure velocity.
