Cayden Ray is a live-arm freshman righty learning on the job for Valpo
In the 2026 season, freshman RHP Cayden Ray has shown real swing-and-miss stuff in limited work, striking out 10 batters across 6.2 innings while also flashing the kind of downhill, innings-eating frame scouts like at 6'0" and 190 lbs. His early results have been bumpy, but the Beacons have trusted him in relief, and Valpo’s own notes highlight him as a three-time all-region, three-time all-district arm with a competitive background. If your team wants a young pitcher with upside, mound presence, and room to grow into more consistency, Ray is worth a serious look.
