Valpo TE with a classic move-the-chains profile
Tom Schmidt appears to be a reliable tight end fit for Valparaiso’s offense, bringing the kind of size-and-control profile that can help on possession routes, play-action seams, and run support. Publicly available sources did not surface current 2026 statistical production or awards for him, so the strongest takeaway is projection: a player whose value likely comes from steadiness, assignment discipline, and versatility more than splashy box-score numbers. If a team wants a dependable TE who can do the dirty work, Schmidt looks like the right kind of glue guy.
