Elite Catcher with Top-30 Ranking and Unmatched Game-Leading Intensity
Abbie Sars, Virginia Tech’s 2025 freshman catcher, is a Top-30 ranked backstop (No. 78 in Extra Innings’ 2025 Extra Elite 100) who brings elite defensive instincts and a .426 senior-year batting average with 18 RBIs. Beyond stats, Sars is a natural leader who commands the dugout on and off the field, evidenced by her .600 OBP in spring travel and a documented 6 mph increase in throwing velocity after specialized training. Her intensity is unmatched—she thrives in high-pressure regional comebacks like VT’s 6-run seventh-inning surge against Akron. With no injury history and a personality that elevates team morale, she’s a perfect fit for any team needing a catcher who leads with grit, consistency, and championship fire.
