Brandon Hampton brings veteran-playmaker energy to Cal’s secondary
Brandon Hampton is a Cal safety with proven ball skills and a knack for making disruptive plays—historically showing up in the stat sheet with tackles and interceptions rather than just cleaning up after the fact. The clearest differentiator is his playmaking instinct: he has shown range, toughness, and special-teams value, which is the kind of glue-player profile coaches love. If you want a safety who adds experience, urgency, and opportunistic defense, Hampton is the sort of fit that can quietly raise a unit’s ceiling.
