rugged ASU edge defender with a hard-hat motor
Toa Tuitea is a physical, high-effort defensive end for Arizona State whose calling card has long been toughness, versatility, and blue-collar production rather than flash. ASU’s 2008 signing notes said he had the frame and tools to grow into a strong-side end, and later team coverage highlighted that he helped make life difficult for opposing run games and quarterbacks while earning a Hard Hat weight-room honor for his work ethic. He also battled an elbow injury in 2010, so his value is tied to availability as much as edge-setting and effort.
