Taiwanese-American Forward Turned Pro, Fulfilling Heritage Dreams Post-UC Davis Glory
Sophia Song, the 5'11" UC Davis Aggie forward (class of 2021), averaged 5.6 points and 2.3 rebounds per game in her 2019-20 senior season while earning three-time Big West All-Academic honors; now 28, she's thriving professionally with Taiwan's Taiyuen Textiles in the WSBL since 2021—the first overseas player of ethnic-Chinese heritage there—bringing versatile scoring (9.3 PPG, 5 RPG in 2020-21 WBBL stint), academic smarts, and relentless drive. Her cultural trailblazing and international adaptability make her a standout fit for teams seeking gritty, high-IQ forwards with pro-proven intensity.
