Colin Merrill brings veteran-ballhawk energy to Davidson’s secondary
In the 2013 season, Colin Merrill was a productive, high-IQ defensive back for Davidson, making 49 total tackles, breaking up passes in three games, and adding an interception plus a blocked kick, which points to a versatile, assignment-sound defender with real special-teams value. He was also recognized on the Academic All-District and PFL Academic Honor Roll lists, a good sign of discipline and reliability. If a team wants a steady DB who plays with effort, instincts, and all-around utility rather than flash, Merrill fits the bill.
