Matt Coward gives VCU steady guard play with playmaking pop
Matt Coward is a reliable **bench guard** for VCU who brings value through **passing, pressure defense, and consistency** rather than high-volume scoring; ESPN lists him at **6.2 points, 3.1 assists, and 1.8 rebounds per game** with a **36.6% field-goal rate**, which frames him as a connector more than a featured scorer[4]. His appeal is in his **steady floor, defensive activity, and unselfish decision-making**, making him a sensible fit for a team that needs a low-drama, rotation-ready guard who can organize possessions and compete hard every night[1][4].
