Old Dominion CB Jalen McCain is a depth piece with long-term upside
McCain is a former Maryland three-star recruit and team captain who brings developmental upside, but the current on-field résumé is thin: Old Dominion’s roster bio says he did not play in 2021, 2022, or 2023, and ESPN lists him with no recorded stats. His appeal is more projection than production right now—at roughly 5-10 and 186 pounds, he offers cornerback size that can be molded if he develops quickly and earns live reps. He looks like a fit for teams willing to bet on traits, work ethic, and future growth rather than immediate impact.
