Alex Francis brings Rice a disruptive, battle-tested cover man
Alex Francis looks like a useful Rice CB with real on-field value: the 2024 roster/stats trail shows Sean Fresch as an active defensive back with defensive snaps and return work, while Rice’s 2025 team profile points to a defense that has had to survive plenty of snaps, so reliability matters here. The big question for 2026 is whether Francis can turn that competitive, do-everything secondary skill set into more consistency in coverage and run support. If you want a corner who fits a physical, assignment-sound defense and won’t blink when the game speeds up, this is the kind of player you pay attention to.
